Be an active member of your local community by volunteering at Alfriston Day Centre & Outreach Service.

We are looking for volunteers to help with all aspects of our Day Centre and Outreach befriending services.

This would include:

Lunch service helpers  -  serving lunches to diners,or assisting our cook in the kitchen with plating up food, clearing/washing up duties.

Transport team  -  Relief minibus drivers and/or escorts - both on our daily transport team or on our various outings throughout the year.

Entertainment volunteers  -  If you have a certificate to run chair-based exercises or can offer afternoon entertainment we would be delighted to hear from you.

Outreach Volunteer Befrienders  -  Our Outreach befriending service matches friendly volunteers with older, isolated members of the community who are unable to attend the Day Centre. We offer training and ongoing support to our volunteers in their befriending role.


Alfriston Day Centre has been at the heart of the local community for over 65 years at its address in Berrylands Road, Surbiton. It offers a warm, caring environment for older people in the community where they can enjoy social interaction. A home cooked lunch and afternoon entertainment along with regular outings, hairdressing and chiropody services. We are committed and dedicated to enhancing the lives of older people in our community.
